By-the-numbers action film that, for some reason, lasts for 2hrs 15mins. I preferred the Edward Woodward TV show.
Denzil Washington's a fine fellow, but for true entertainment you need a white-haired British pensioner politely punching unconvincing street toughs then driving away in a Jag.
What should've been a cracking story about how small town boredom can so easily lead to low-level crime and the consequences of, instead became a boring film about people doing dull, people-y things and some tepid plot twists. Acting and all that very good, story not so much.
