2018 Happy Death Day (2017)

A woman relives the same day over and over again, like Groundhog Day but a young woman instead of Bill Murray.
The difference, aside from gender and two decades, is that the trigger for her day to repeat is her murder. Done a different way each time and she can't figure out who's doing it or why.

Journey of self-discovery as much as it's about solving the crime etc.

Much better than we thought it was going to be. Funny, involving, well paced. Worth seeing.

2018 Goodfellas (1990)

Joel Pesci as a hardman? Come fucking on. There's a limit.

Anyway, everyone's seen this. Fat people called 'Pauli' and 'Sal' eat pasta and kill each other.

2018 Bright (2017)

You seen the 1988 film Alien Nation? It's dated a little but still a fun watch with some excellent dialogue.

Anyway, imagine a very mediocre remake.

With fucking Joel Edgerton in it.

Because he has to be in everything at the moment.

He's probably a decent enough human, I like to think that most are, in the face of increasing evidence to the contrary. And he's a good actor in that anonymous, "oh, yeah, him" kinda way.

In this film, to play an alien, he has channelled the character Bubbles from The Trailer Park Boys.

Casting directors, risk averse? No, I'll not hear of it.

2018 The Snowman (2017)

Rightly derided by critics (see, I do agree with them sometimes) although not as terrible as some films they blindly adore.

The plot seems to make it up as it goes along and scenes that are meant to be scary are unintentionally funny.

2018 Day Of The Dead: Bloodline (2018)

The third or fourth film to use the title of Romero's original (and by far his best) and stain its memory with a piss-poor, forgettable effort that bears as much resemblance to the original as I do to Beyonce.

2018 Blade Runner 2049 (2017)

****SPOILER ALERT!!!****

In the future robots will start having babies.

Well, why can't they be as miserable as everyone else?

Thanyovemuch.

*Un-cups robo-tit*

*Feeds botfant with fresh oil*

2018 Devil's Gate (2017)

Small town, odd stuff going on. Can't remember if we liked it.

Also, let's see if I can 'plop all the films we've watched this year before it ends in five days. Gosh, that's like the exciting plot of a film in itself, isn't it? Man at desk has to Copy & Paste nonsense onto a screen! Edge of yer seat stuff.
