2018 The Ballad Of Lefty Brown (2017)

Watching this we realised that Jeff Daniels and Bill Pullman are actually one person.

Think we was a full twenty minutes into this before Podd pointed out it was Bill Pullman playing the title character in this and Jeff Daniels looking exactly the same in the recent (flippin' excellent) TV show Godless.

This film's OK, but Godless was one of the best shows we've seen in a while. Watch both if you want, but Godless is definitely worth making an effort for.

Well, that's if you like westerns an' shit. Otherwise might not be worth it.

2018 Most Beautiful Island (2017)

Kinda similar to 13 Tzameti. If you liked that, you'll probably like this. Low budget and grimy. Effective though, well performed. Good effort.

2018 Apprentice (2016)

Film about a trainee hangman.

Well, it is. Obviously there's a little more nuance in the delivery, the plot contains some details not covered in that five word description, but that is the main body of it.

Body!

Ha!

Hangman? Body? Get it?

Oh, I'm a wheeze.

I wonder how you get that apprenticeship in countries still using capital punishment?

"Hate people? Need money? Good at knots? Phone this number:"

2018 The Monster Project (2017)

Found footage, humour free version of What We Do In The Shadows.
It actually starts off quite good but the last thirty minutes are a tedious drag.

See how much I suffer to bring you this stuff!!!

2018 Acts Of Violence (2018)

Generic action flick where some brothers rescue their sister from baddies by doing lots of shooting people.
Bruce Willis is in it for a bit.
I reckon he's got some kinda stupendously expensive hobby, like firing solid gold cannon balls into lakes that he doesn't bother to retrieve.
Well, he must've earned fifty lifetimes worth of money in the '90s, so he's gotta have a reason for appearing in old cockwash like this?

2018 Cut Shoot Kill (2017)

Horror film. Think it was OK. No surprises or standout moments. Whatever.

2018 Bullet Head (2017)

Has there ever been a more annoying presence in films than Adrien Brody's face?

His acting really ain't all that shitting wonderful either.

Or maybe it is and I just can't get past my face irritation.

Anyway, this film's about a bunch of criminals trying to escape from a vicious dog. Actually better than that makes it sound.
