First full length film written and directed by Matt Holness who made the brilliant and much missed Garth Merenghi's Dark Place.
Dark Place was brilliantly silly nonsense, a parody of shit horror that was full of greatly quotable dialogue.
"As I rounded the corner I felt muscular and compact, like corned beef" is a particular favourite of mine.
Works much better in the context of the show.
Anyway, this is a very different film, very serious, British and almost punishingly glum. Like Ken Loach directing a screenplay written by David Lynch.
It is good, though, in case that description is a little off-putting. You just gotta be in the mood for it.
Holness' short films The Snipist and A Gun For George are well worth seeking out as well. I think they're both on YouPube if you wanna look.
Ta.
