Film about a young
lad who, due to being uncertain of his sexuality and general place in the
world, finds his escape by hiding out in his room writing 'Slash', which is
apparently erotic fan fiction. His particular interest is some nonsense about
muscular men on alien planets pumping each other in the bum.
He befriends a girl
with her own issues and they go of to a fan fic convention together to discover
themselves and all that.
Although the above
sounds dismissive and critical, it's actually a well acted, funny and charming
film that avoids most cliches and is well worth a go if films about awkward,
sexually confused nerds coming of age is your thing.
