Wildling (2018)

A young woman is kept prisoner in a small house in the wilderness. Her captor injects her with drugs that suppress her pubescent development, but otherwise treats her gently and with kindness and respect, suggesting that although his actions are objectively wrong, he may have fair reason for them.

When she is freed and slowly integrates into society in the care of a friendly local police lady, she starts to develop as her maturity is now unencumbered with chemical suppressant.
Turns out she has more to worry about than the usual time of the month issues as a more animalistic side to her nature begins to emerge.

People have compared this to Ginger Snaps, and no doubt some tedious folk have said that transformation from innocent to beast is some metaphor about menstruation or some shit, but the film doesn't seem concerned with any weighty statements, it's just a decent, odd little story that's done well and worth a watch.

Also, 'pubescent'? Pube scent? The smell of pubes.

"New from Chanel, 'Pube', capturing the aroma of the front-bum."
