07/04/15 Frenzy (1972)

Pretty sure it's illegal to say anything negative about any Hitchcock films. Admittedly, I haven't seen many, pretty much just this and Psycho. Psycho was excellent, this was fuckin' bumwash. Shut up.

London. Before it became the arsehole's themepark it is today.

"What's that word, Miriam?"
"Barnacle"

1970's man, modelling the standard combination of shirt, tie, brown things and alcoholism.

"Must you watch me eat, Barnsworth?"
"Yes. Late at night, I also watch you sleep. Sometimes I stroke your hair."

"Cauliflower!!!"

Did all British men look like this in the '70s, or was this guy in every film made back then?

07/09/13 Konga (1961)

28 years after King Kong was made, some British people tried to remake it.

Surely, even fifty years ago, people must've thought this was terrible. Great entertainment though and funnier than most modern films even when they're trying to be funny.

3/10 but also 10/10

NOT A WIG!*
*Might be a wig.

"Here ya go. If you'd like anything stronger, I've got some chimp whisky"

Television was much more formal back then. Here's an early episode of Masterchef.

Latin name: Obviousphallus Erectus-veinyshaft
(Named after proffessor Jeffery Veinyshaft)

1960s sitcoms were not very PC. (Boxset available on UKIP video)

Leonard Surprisedface was a great actor, but sadly typecast.

"Kin' 'ell, Gladys. When you said a bit of roleplay, I didn't think you'd be this committed."

"Shut up! Now, bend me over and give me a 'silver back'..."

"Careful, Brenda! You'll have someone's eye out!"

Previously unseen segments of the Patterson-Gimlin footage throw some doubt on its validity.

Absolutely no issues with scale and effects more convincing than Jurassic Park.

"Got the time, Dave?"
"Yeah, five-to-ape."

22/06/13 Brannigan (1975)

An overweight pensioner in a wig visits England to pick up a man.

Contains lots of nice vintage cars and a surprise Baldrick.

http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0072732/
7/10 (In that it's entertaining without actually being 'good'.)

John Wayne, about to lube-up.

Picadilly Circus. Different but the same.

"You've been with her again! Haven't you, Terry!" *Sobs*

"This week on Time Team, we'll be in 1975."

London was so poor in the '70s, people couldn't afford stairs. They had to take the window.

"The advert said seven inches. That's five, tops."

A statement about the British motor industry if I ever saw one!

"Here, have another pie, you fat cunt."

"Pint of Watney's Old Bollock, Please Glenda."

"Gaaaah! Piss off midget!"
